Quincy’s Marina Bay Beach Club will undergo a complete makeover and reopen as the Ocean Club at Marina Bay this Memorial Day weekend.

North End restaurateurs Frank DePasquale and Nick Varano are taking over the nightspot billed as the largest outdoor entertainment complex in the Northeast.

“It’s always been one of the greatest outdoor venues in the state, and I believe with me and Nick teaming up together, we can make it the best,” DePasquale said. “We’re going to be bringing in top-name DJs and top-quality bands, local and national.”

It appears that 6one7 Productions and Michael Winter will be lending a hand in the promotion of the new venue – It’s great to see them extendign themselves outside of the metro Boston area!
The 62,000-square-foot, 1,600-capacity venue will sport new plush cabanas, four bars, an upscale lounge and a gourmet food court with the pair’s take on burgers, pizza and barbecue. The professional volleyball court and billiard area will be maintained.

The Ocean Club at Marina Bay will operate Friday through Sunday, opening at 11 a.m. on the weekend.

DePasquale Ventures operates six North End restaurants, including Bricco and Mare, as well as Umbria Prime in the Financial District and Splash Ultra Lounge in the Leather District.

The Varano Group, which owns the Strega and Nico restaurants in the North End and Nick Varano’s Famous Deli, also is developing a second Strega that’s expected to open this summer on Fan Pier.

Congratulations to all involved!
Boston’s Big Night Entertainment had operated the Marina Bay Beach Club, formerly known as Waterworks, since 1996.
